Michael’s life in the digital sector began in 1999 when he helped win the contract to publish Internet World magazine in the UK, which he launched as Publisher. As the tech boom of the turn of the century went into the stratosphere he went on to launch a range of titles, exhibitions, conferences and websites, including ISP World, .NET magazine, Streaming Media and, incredibly for 2001, mCommerceWorld.
After working in government launching programmes such as Building Schools for the Future he left in 2006 to be Managing Director of a small Lancaster-based digital agency called Fat Media. Over the next eight years the company grew to be one of the largest and most successful agencies of its kind in the north of England employing over 85 staff and working with firms across the UK and overseas including Warburtons, Lakeland, JD Sports and many more.
After selling Fat Media in 2014 Michael moved into consultancy and now advises a range of companies in the digital sector and beyond, as well as being a non-executive director at several businesses.
